FAQ
What people ask us most
Do I need to buy radios?
No. It works on Android phones with mobile data or WiFi. If you prefer a radio-style device, it also works on Android PTT radios.
Does it use a lot of data?
Very little. Voice is compressed and data is only used while someone is talking.
Does it work on iPhone?
Android for now. The iPhone version comes later.
Why not just use WhatsApp voice notes?
Because the radio is instant: you push and they hear you live, without opening chats, recording or anyone having to play back audio. You also split your people into channels per team, get an emergency button (SOS), see your team on the map, and everything belongs to your company, not to a group on each person's own phone.
How secure are my conversations?
Each company has its own radio server, separate from everyone else and with its own password. To join, each person needs their personal QR code; if you remove them, it stops working immediately. The connection between the phone and the server is encrypted (TLS) and the voice travels encrypted (AES). Nothing is recorded on the Radio plan. Sentinela staff only manage your server: adding and removing users and channels.
Can you see where my people are all day?
No. Location is only shared while each person is on shift: they start and end it in the app. Off shift, nothing is sent. Only people from your own company can see it.
What happens when someone presses SOS?
Everyone on your team gets an alarm with the name and location of the person who pressed it, and their radio stays open for 15 seconds so you can hear what is going on. It supports your team: it does not replace 911.
What devices do you recommend?
Any Android phone with data or WiFi works. If your team works in the field, there are also Android PTT radios, tougher and with a physical talk button. You can see them in our store: [PENDIENTE: URL de la categoría de radios en sentinela.mx].
How does the free trial work?
Sign up and you get the information and QR codes by email so up to 5 people on your team can use the radio for 7 days. No credit card. When it ends, if you want to continue you subscribe; if not, the trial turns off by itself and nothing is charged.
How do I pay?
Monthly or one year in advance (about 2 months free). You only pay for active users. Prices in US dollars, plus applicable taxes.
What if someone leaves my team?
Remove them and their code stops working immediately. That user is no longer billed.
